VRL will be at the Pennsylvania Conference for Women! A non-profit, non-partisan, one-day professional and personal development event for women that features dozens of renowned speakers, including Michele Obama, sharing inspirational stories and leading seminars on the issues that matter most to women, including health, personal finance, executive leadership, small business and entrepreneurship, work/life balance, branding and social media marketing, and more. The Conference offers incredible opportunities for business networking, professional development, and personal growth.

The mission of the Conference for Women is to promote, communicate and amplify the influence of women in the workplace and beyond. VoteRunLead’s “Run As You Are”: In-Person Training Manchester, NH

This September, VoteRunLead is teaming up with the New Hampshire Women’s Foundation to bring you the resources you need to learn how to run for office. These two groups are coming together to put on a day of empowerment that will leave you with the skills and confidence you need to step up and make a difference. VRL’s “Run As You Are” campaign is specifically designed to arm you with everything you need to enter your race, using everything you already have. Regardless of what political party you affiliate with, VoteRunLead and the New Hampshire Women’s Foundation know that female leaders need support to enact positive change — and we’re here to help you do just that. Join the thousands of women who are taking the Run As You Are Challenge, or learn how you can better support other women who are running.

 

From 9am-3:30pm, this event will include:

Higher Heights presents: Run As You Are- Ready to Jump In, But Don’t Know Where to Start?

In this 60 minute webinar, VRL’s Founding Board Member, Jehmu Greene will challenge you to take 30 political actions in 90 days, accelerating the growth of your political networks and know-how. The United State of Women present: “The Galvanize Program”-Columbus, OH, with trainings by VoteRunLead

VoteRunLead is proud to lead the Political Candidate Track training at The United State of Women’s “The Galvanize Program“. Which brings local United State of Women summits to communities across the country bringing people together to tackle the challenges women are facing nationally and locally,  & arming women with the tools and resources they need to keep organizing and fighting for gender equity, whether that’s through elected office, entrepreneurship, and everything in between.

During this 2 day workshop, attendees will pick a track based on their interests to receive in-depth and skills-based training,  leaving the Galvanize Program with a clear sense of how to continue working for equality in your community, and making the connections with organizations and activists to make it happen!

Graphic Design Intern

We’re seeking a New York City based Graphic Design intern that is interested in changing the ratio, and contributing to a great organization!
Responsibilities
Participate in brainstorming concepts
Coming up with solutions for daily assignments such as inspirational quotes, holiday graphics, and infographics that are consistent with our ethos
Assist in other visual communication projects including branding, identity, and website design
Requirements
NYC based
20 hours a week
Knowledge of the practices and techniques used in the field of graphic design as related to advertising and social media marketing
Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
Ability to work with limited supervision
Ability to take direction and handle edits/redesigns based on feedback
Compensation
Stipend of $500 a semester
Monthly Metrocard (non-transferable)

Program and Fundraising Intern

We are seeking smart go-getters looking for an opportunity to put their passions and skills into action in real time, on live projects. We are seeking a “Jill of all trades” with strong fundraising and people skills, whose interests lie in political engagement and research, changing the ratio of women in elected office, and training and education.
Roles and Responsibilities
General office support
Fundraising and research
Account handling and budgeting
Data entry management
Provide additional support to team members
Tracking Google alerts and tagging in Facebook
Requirements
NYC based
20 hours a week
Ownership and accountability of projects from beginning to end with sharp attention to detail
Optimism and a creative outlook
Good communication skills
Committed to women’s equality and the hustle it will take to change the ratio of women leaders permanently
Compensation
Stipend of $500 a semester

This summer, VoteRunLead is teaming up with the Women’s Fund of Rhode Island to bring you the resources you need to learn how to run for office. These two groups are coming together to give you the skills and confidence you need to step into the political atmosphere and make a difference. VRL’s “Run As You Are” campaign will kick off the launch of the Women’s Fund of Rhode Island’s new training series, “Through a Gender Lens,” filling the event with tons of helpful information on how YOU can run using everything you already have, as well as how to address the issues of gender equity that will arise during your candidacy. Regardless of what political party you affiliate with, WFRI knows that when 30% or more of our leaders are female, positive change happens for women and families.  Join the thousands of women who are taking the Run As You Are Challenge, or learn how you can better support other women who are running.

Our evening “Run As You Are” workshop is here to help you articulate your experience as expertise, demystify the campaign trail, identify roles for your current squad, expand your local network, and outline your path to political leadership.

NYC politics can be a tough nut to crack. We can help! VRL alumnae who are serving on Community Education Council and local Community Boards and those running for local council will be there to network and share resources.
