Marienella “Mina” Davis is running for the nonpartisan, unicameral Neberaksa State Legislature, District 8. Davis is the daughter of a veteran father and an immigrant mother who taught her that looking out for one another is always the way to go. At age 24, Davis is a data-scientist, a small-business owner of an online retail store, and a debate coach of more than eight years. She is a proud Creighton University graduate, with a degree in Business Intelligence and Analytics with an Information Technology focus, taking to heart the Creighton values of cura personalis and being a person for others. In 2012, Davis was a fellow on President Obama’s election campaign and, in 2016, was elected on to serve as a delegate for Bernie Sanders in the Nebraska Delegation at the Democratic national Convention in Philadelphia. Working on several campaigns, Davis was inspired by the wave of newcomers to politics, Mina is running to be the youngest woman and first asian American in the Nebraska Legislature. Davis lives in Dundee with her dog and visits her family often in Omaha.
